Who is Audrey Sommerfeld

“I grew up on food stamps. I wore leg braces to walk. I had facial deformaties and had to wear braces and break my jaw, and speech therapy to speak clearly. I was told to settle. I was disowned for dreaming bigger. And I almost ended it all, until I heard a voice that said, ‘You were meant for more.’”

Audrey Sommerfeld, our Founder, is no stranger to adversity, or to scale.

She built global brands at P&G, Johnson & Johnson, Herbalife, and ViSalus—helping take companies from millions to billions.

But she also saw the greed, the hype, and the dishonesty that plagued the health and wellness industry.

So she built what she wished existed: A values-based company rooted in science, transparency, and heart, where customers heal and entrepreneurs earn fairly.

This isn’t just a product company. It’s a movement.

Health. Wealth. Living. Giving.

That’s what drives us—and what makes Jump To Health positioned for breakout growth.

Here’s What I’ve Learned

By Audrey Sommerfeld, Founder

I didn’t grow up with a silver spoon.

I grew up with food stamps, leg braces, and a face doctors said they’d need to break my jaw to fix.

I had a jaw deformity—my top jaw was smaller than my bottom. I spent eight years in dental work, braces, and speech therapy. My legs were in braces too, just to help me walk. And I learned quickly that when you're different, people treat you differently.

I grew up in a town of 200 people, where dreams were small, and silence was survival.

My father was angry. My mother belittled. And the unspoken rule was clear: girls don’t need ambition—they need to behave.

With help of two teachers, they agreed I could go to school, but they told me: Be a nurse. Maybe a teacher. Don’t expect more.

So I tried. I really did.

But when I said, “I want a different path,” my mother said, “I have no daughter now.”

I was disowned. I had no one. I faced the holidays with nowhere to go (I was in a dorm, I had to leave).

One night, I stood on a bridge wondering if the world would notice if I disappeared.

Here’s what I’ve learned…

1. You can be broken and still be chosen. You can feel completely alone and still have purpose.

A voice inside whispered: “Don’t do it. Not like this.”

That voice saved me and I’ve been listening to it ever since and from that moment on, I vowed to never abandon myself again.

2. The world will try to shrink you. Don’t let it. Your calling is bigger than your comfort.

I put myself through college. Two degrees. Worked full-time.

Then I applied to one of the top business schools in the world—because someone told me, “Think small, stay small. Think big, change the world.” It was at that point I stopped asking for permission to dream big.

3. Success doesn’t mean you’re fulfilled.

I built global brands at Procter & Gamble and Johnson & Johnson.

I had the title. The paycheck. The boardroom.

But I also had a sinking feeling that something was wrong because these companies weren’t built to heal people. They were built to sell to them. And the deeper I went, the clearer it became: most companies don’t care.

Not about people. Not about real health. Just profits.

4. Even good ideas can be poisoned by greed.

Network marketing gave me hope. Finally, a way to connect and educate, to really serve.

I helped Herbalife and ViSalus explode in growth.

But behind the scenes, I saw the same old story: hype over honesty. Profits over people.

5. Sometimes, the best solution is to start fresh—with different shoes.

A therapist once told me:

"You can keep wearing those old, worn-out shoes from your past… or you can choose new ones and walk into your future."

That stuck with me. I started lacing up.

6. If what you need doesn’t exist, create it. That’s what I did, I built what I wish existed.

I started Jump To Health to be the company I needed back then. A company rooted in honesty, integrity, science and service.

● One with products backed by nutritionists, not gimmicks.

● A compensation plan that doesn’t trick you.

● A mission that lifts people up, not locks them in.

Health. Wealth. Living. Giving.

That’s our core. That’s our promise.

I built this company for people who feel like they’re meant for more… but haven’t had a place that felt like home yet.

The woman who’s been told to stay small.

The man who’s tired of choosing between his health and his paycheck.

The parent who wants more time, more energy, more meaning.

The dreamer who knows deep down… they were meant for more.

If you’ve ever felt broken, behind, or stuck in a system that wasn’tbuilt for you, I see you. If that’s you—welcome home.

Cholesterol, A1C

4-24-25 - Cholesterol, A1C

Susan Wakefield saw improvements in her cholesterol, her A1Cblood sugar – and even better pain.

Diet can have a huge impact on our heart health, gut health and mood.

Yet these health issues are growing. About 86 million US adults age 20 or older have total cholesterol levels above 200 mg/dL. Nearly 25 million adults in the United States have total cholesterol levels above 240 mg/dL.1

About 7% of US children and adolescents ages 6 to 19 have high total cholesterol.

Cholesterol – we do need some cholesterol to be healthy. It is in our body to help build the structure of cell membranes. make hormones like estrogen, testosterone and adrenal hormones, helpyour metabolism work efficiently, and is essential for your body to produce vitamin D (which help bones, teeth and muscles).

We have two kinds of cholesterol – HDL or ‘good’ cholesterol and LDL ‘not so good’ cholesterol.

HDL is responsible for reverse cholesterol transport, which means it removes bad cholesterol from the bloodstream and takes it to the liver, which gets rid of it,” he explains.

Low-density lipoprotein (LDL) is commonly known as the “bad” cholesterol because it causes plaque formation in the arteries over time.

Diet accounts for about 30% of your cholesterol in your blood. You can help improve your cholesterol – create more good HDL, and less LDL with diet.

We used to think it was fat that was bad for heart health. New research shows that is not true.

Remember when eggs were bad for us?

Butter is bad and we ate margarine?

When we moved to the “Low fat” diet in the early 1990’s, we saw increases in cholesterol, heart disease, brain disorders, mood disorders, and spikes in other challenges including cancer.

Why?

Because when we removed fat, the food companies added sugar to make the food taste good and last longer on the store shelf.

https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/2783903/

In 1975 – we ate 26 lbs of sugar per person per year.

In 1985 we ate about 50 lbs. of sugar per person per year. Then the low fat diet craze hit and it skyrocketed to

In 1990 we ate an average 90 lbs. of sugar per person per year.

In 2023 we ate an average 156 lbs.

Sugar intake can negatively impact cholesterol levels, specifically by lowering HDL (good) cholesterol and raising triglycerides, which are both risks for cardiovascular disease. Sugar can also affect LDL (bad) cholesterol, making it dysfunctional and increasing the risk of heart disease.

How Sugar Affects Cholesterol:

Lowering HDL Cholesterol:

Studies show that increased sugar consumption is linked to decreased HDL levels, which are crucial for removing excess cholesterol from the bloodstream.

Raising Triglycerides:

High sugar intake, especially from sugary drinks and refined carbohydrates, can lead to elevated triglyceride levels, another risk factor for heart disease.

Impact on LDL Cholesterol:

While sugar may not directly raise LDL levels, it can alter LDL molecules, making them dysfunctional and more prone to causing artery plaque buildup.

Insulin Resistance:

It impacts A1C too, as that is the measure of sugar in our blood which can impact liver and insulin.

When you consume sugar, your body breaks it down into glucose, which enters the bloodstream. This raises blood sugar levels, and the pancreas releases insulin to help cells use that glucose for energy. If you consume too much sugar, blood sugar levels can remain high, leading to insulin resistance and potentially developing prediabetes or diabetes. High sugar intake can contribute to insulin resistance, where cells become less responsive to the hormone insulin. This can lead to a variety of metabolic problems, including abnormal cholesterol profiles.

Sugar also spikes inflammation – and that can impact your C-Reactive protein test which is often a test doctors use to look at heart health. This can lead to chronic low-grade inflammation, potentially contributing to various health problems like heart disease, diabetes, and liver disease.

Elaboration:

Recommendations:

Limit Added Sugars:

Reduce your intake of added sugars, such as those found in sugary drinks, candy, and processed foods.

Choose Whole, Nutritious Foods:

.

Focus on a diet rich in fruits, vegetables, and whole grains.

Prioritize Healthy Fats:

.Include heart-healthy fats like avocados, nuts, seeds, and fatty fish in your diet.

Manage Blood Sugar:

If you have diabetes or pre-diabetes, managing your blood sugar levels is crucial for overall health, including cholesterol levels.

Watch how much you eat of

•Red meat, like beef, pork, and lamb,

•Processed meats like sausage and lunch meat which can be very high in sodium.

•Baked goods and sweets

•Fried foods

•Tropical oils such as palm oil and coconut oil

Lower LDL by:

1. Stop smoking.

2. Manage blood sugar levels. Even those who are not diabetic or prediabetic should watch blood sugar.

3. Exercise. Walk for 20 minutes or more a day. Join our 6 Week blitz and get some weight training too.

4. Reduce stress – it reduces blood pressure. Need help doing that? Try Control. It makes a big difference in mood.

5. Watch your weight. Losing weight increases your HDL, which in turn helps remove and lower LDL.

6. Eat a healthy diet – getting enough fiber, lean protein, healthy fats, and enough hydration.

https://www.piedmont.org/living-real-change/good-vs-bad-cholesterol#:~:text=%E2%80%9CHDL%20is%20responsible%20for%20reverse,in%20the%20arteries%20over%20time.

Foods to Eat:

1. Foods rich in fiber or take Fiber Pro. Fiber helps to remove fats, sugars from our diet and our body and help take them out of the body naturally. This can help lower cholesterol, boost gut health, boost immune health. Only 8 out of 100 people get enough fiber.  High fiber foods like Beans, barley, broccoli, sweet potatoes – have fiber to help lower cholesterol.

2. Plants with high water content, like spinach and other leafy greens

3. Fruits like Apples, grapes, strawberries, berries – have fiber that has been shown to help lower LDL.

4. Soy – there is a lot of myth and confusion on soy. This is because the molecule under a microscope looks like a similar shape to estrogen. It has been studied and shown to NOT act like estrogen in the body. In Asian countries where they eat a LOT more than in the USA, along with more fish – they have less health issues. Soy milk is also great for muscle building and satiety, and some studies show it can help fight against certain cancers.

5. Fatty fish – Omega’s make a difference as they help fight inflammation and reduce triglycerides and LDL. If you don’t eat salmon, mackeral, tuna, sardines – then take our Vital Omega – it is 4x more powerful than common Omega’s on the market and has more benefits too due to flax, black cumin seed, molecularly distlled fish oil too.

6. Whole grains like oats, whole wheat bread, brown rice, even popcorn.

7. Nuts like walnuts and almonds

8. Health fats – like canola oil, sunflower oil, olive oil, butter, cream.

Jump To Health Product

Podcast https://www.fluid.app/s/0e61b1

1. Start your day with Fiber Pro in your morning coffee or beverage. It gets you a full serving of fiber – about 6 grams.

2. Have Fiber Pro in PowerOx in the afternoon for a healthy pick me up. The combo helps balance gut health, balance hunger hormones, and can even help with menopause if you add in a little Ignite. By

3. Have a Shake for breakfast. Not only are you getting lean, low fat protein, but also prebiotic fiber again. Add in fruit and you have almost 2 servings of fiber. And the sweetener we use does not spike insulin, or blood sugar.

If you do this for 2-3 weeks – and take a blood test – you likely will see results – fast!

4. Vital Omega -get more powerful Omega support than other brands.

5. Ignite – some studies show that MCT’s like those in Ignite not only make your brain happy and help you eat less, but also can help boost good HDL and lower bad LDL. So in your morning coffee have Fiber Pro, Ignite.

6. GLucoSupport - managing blood sugar is key for helping our body with blood pressure and cholesterol. Berberine and other nutrients in GlucoSupport have been shown to help reduce total cholesterol, and especially LDL cholesterol.

Berberine may lower cholesterol levels by:

Inhibiting cholesterol absorption in the intestines

Reducing cholesterol synthesis in the liver

Increasing the breakdown of cholesterol in the liver

7. Fruit power, veg Power – there are many studies that show polyphenols help our gut, heart, and cholesterol. If you are not eating enough fruits and veg, then add Fruit Power and Veg.

Now interestingly – doing this can also help lower your blood pressure!

Key here is watching sodium. We should be getting 1500-2500 mg a day – yet the average adult is getting 40% more or 4000 mg a day. This makes us retain water, and increases blood pressure.

Potassium – found in banana’s also help support healthy blood pressure. So enjoy that PB and banana shake!

Beets help create nitric oxide in the body to help keep blood vessels soft and help with blood flow. So does citrulline malate, which we have in Excelerade.

Pumpkin seeds too – which is in the VPro shake – can help too.

Collagen is not a complete Protein

Collagen –

There are many types, but unfortunately collagen is not a complete protein. There are now 'warning' labels required on collagen (you can see those on products like Vital Proteins) as they are not going to build lean muscle To date, there’s been minimal research on the direct link between collagen supplements and weight loss. Most studies are small, outdated, or involve animals.

Collagen might not help with muscle growth as much as other proteins, but it can still be a valuable part of a muscle-building regimen. Collagen only makes up about 1–10% of muscle protein, and it doesn't contain BCAA and tryptophan, which are found in whey protein and are linked to improved body composition and satiety. However, collagen supplements can help boost collagen synthesis, which can help with connective tissue growth, such as tendons. Collagen can also help repair and strengthen connective tissues after exercise – though there is not a lot of science on collagen, and many sources show little to no benefit.

There are about 26 types of collagen - and depending on the type, it may help with joints, or skin/hair/nails. The three main types of collagen used for supplements are Type I, II and III.

Type I Collagen - 100% found in Marine (fish) Collagen and also present in smaller amounts in Porcine (pig) Collagen and some forms of Bovine (cattle) Collagen.

Type I makes up 75-90% of the collagen found in your skin, hair, nails, organs, bone, ligaments.

For skin and beauty applications Type I Collagen is considered to be the best. Dermatology research with oral supplementation of collagen has shown that when Type I (overall body) Collagen is increased, there are visible results in the appearance of skin.

Type II Collagen - Chicken Collagen and Bovine Collagen if from cartilage.

Type II Collagen makes up the fluids and function of the cartilage and joints. Its main supplemental purpose is for the treatment of joint pain and arthritic conditions, as well as for a dietary protein source. Type II Collagen makes up 10% of the total collagen in the body and 50-60% of the protein found specifically in our cartilage.

Type III Collagen - Found with Type I in Porcine (pig) Collagen and Bovine (cattle) Collagen if from bovine hide.

Type III Collagen is the second most abundant collagen in tissues; most commonly in tissues with elastic properties such as skin, lungs, intestinal walls and walls of blood vessels.

It’s also found in fibrous protein in bone, cartilage, dentin (a strengthening coating on teeth), tendons, and other connective tissues.

The pros and cons of the different sources of these types of collagen

Marine Collagen (fish)

PROS: Marine Collagen peptides are considered to be superior at increasing overall body collagen (Type 1) and supporting skin, hair, nail, and bone quality.

Marine Collagen is absorbed up to 1.5 times more efficiently into the body, meaning it has superior bioavailability over bovine or porcine collagen. Because of it's low molecular weight it’s absorbed more easily and enters the bloodstream more rapidly.

Marine Collagen peptides have gained popularity in nutraceutical products due to their similarity to the human collagen structure.

CONS: Marine Collagen peptides are generally more expensive.

Not suitable for those that have an allergy to fish

Bovine Collagen (cattle) PROS: Bovine collagen peptides are generally easier to source, and are incorporated into a wide variety of collagen supplements, largely due to the high accessibility of bovine materials.

Because Bovine Collagen contains Type III and some Type I Collagen (unless from cartilage making it Type II), it can be effective for support of skin, hair and nails.

Bovine collagen from cartilage can be highly effective for joint pain and recovery.

CONS: Not considered as effective as Marine Collagen peptides in raising overall body collagen levels for skin, hair and nails. Should always be from free-range, grass-fed, hormone-free cows. This can make it more expensive too.

Porcine (pig) Collagen PROS: Porcine Collagen peptides are usually lower cost, and are incorporated into a wide variety of collagen supplements, largely due to the high accessibility of porcine materials.

Like Bovine Collagen, Porcine Collagen contains Type III and some Type I collagen, so it can be effective for support of hair, skin and nails.

CONS: Not considered as effective as Marine Collagen peptides in raising overall body collagen levels.

Not thought to be as easily absorbed as Marine Collagen.

Should always come from free-range, hormone-free pig material, which will make it more expensive too.

Chicken/Bovine Collagen (if from cartilage) Type II collagen PROS: Chicken collagen peptides are considered to be most effective for supporting cartilage in the body.

Studied for its role in supporting mobility issues, and reducing pain associated with arthritic conditions.

CONS: Not considered an ingredient for reducing the visible effects of ageing in skin.

The use of collagen supplements has been well studied, and continues to be studied as the rise in popularity of products containing collagen grows.

10 Tips for weight loss

10 Tips for weight loss (article below).

https://www.ndtv.com/health/obesity-10-easy-tips-that-will-help-boost-your-weight-loss-journey-3857693
