Out-of-Balance Nutrition Can Impact Hair Loss

Skincare Collections Series

Out-of-Balance Nutrition

Can Impact Hair Loss

by Audrey Sommerfeld | Founder & CEO

February 2024

Hair loss – it’s a worrisome thing for many. At some point 80% of men, and 50% of women can experience loss of hair. There are many reasons we can have thinning hair:

  1. As we age our hair begins to thin naturally, as hormone production in the body slows.
  2. Hair starts growing at the root in the bottom of your hair follicle on your scalp.
  3. Your scalp’s blood vessels feed the root, creating more cells and making your hair grow.
  4. Hair pushes up and out through your skin. It passes through oil glands that help keep it soft and shiny.
  5. Hair grows for a while but then falls out as each new regrowth cycle begins.

Nutrition can impact hair loss. Foods to avoid:

  1. Sugars.
  2. Starch white foods.
  3. Alcohol as it slows the zinc in your body.
  4. Artificial sweeteners.
  5. Too much salt.

Medical situations that that can impact hair loss.

 1. Thyroid: If you are seeing large amounts of hair loss, the first thing to do is to get your thyroid tested. When hormone production is disrupted, specifically of hormones T3 and T4Trusted Source, it affects other processes in the body including energy, weight gain, weight loss, and hair loss amongst other things.. This includes the development of hair at the root. Hair falls out and may not be replaced by new growth, resulting in thinning across your scalp and other areas such as your eyebrows.

2. Auto-immune disorders: Alopecia is an autoimmune condition often seen with thyroid conditions. It causes patches of hair loss in more discrete areas. Over time, though, this condition may cause baldness. Other autoimmune diseases that may lead to hair loss and are often linked to thyroid issues include Lupus, POCS (polycystic ovary syndrome) and others. People with autoimmune thyroid disorders should watch their iodine intake. The body uses iodine to make thyroid hormone, so too much may lead to imbalances. Kelp and other kinds of seaweed are high in iodine and may worsen symptoms, including hair loss. Certain multivitamins and cough syrups may also contain iodine, so read labels carefully.

3. High fever, and illnesses.

4. Medications: If you recently changed your medications, or changed the amounts – this can affect hair loss too. Anti-convulsants, blood thinners, heart medications can impact your hair.

5. Hair styles: Wearing your hair in a pony tail, or tight to your head style every day can cause more hair thinning too.

6. Stress and Anxiety can increase hair loss.

7. Heredity – if thin hair runs in the family, or baldness, you may be at higher risk of thinning hair.

8. Nutrition deficiencies: There are some nutritional deficiencies that cause hair loss you might not be aware of. Our hair is only as healthy as our diet and how well our body absorbs the nutrients we eat. When we aren’t properly digesting food and getting the right nutrients, our bodies can’t do their magical thing and keep us looking and feeling great.

Our hair, skin, and nails are often some of the first physical signs something is missing in our diets. If your hair has been falling out, thinning, or breaking off at the ends, you might want to take a look at these nutritional deficiencies that cause hair loss.

9. Zinc and minerals – being deficient can impact hair health and hair loss. With KeTonic – you get a bunch of minerals. KeTonic is a mineral absorbing booster. So you will get more benefits from the foods you eat just by having this.

10. Healthy Fats- eating too little healthy fats can impact your hair, skin and nails.

Nutrition can fight hair loss.

Foods that boost healthy hair.

1. Eggs – packed with biotin and healthy fats to so support healthy hair. Also cauliflower and mushrooms and nuts. These are key in our New You In 22 program – they are packed with nutrition, low glycemic and promote healthy weight, and healthy hair. With our Mug cake or bundt cake recipes – not only do you get healthy fats, but also healthy prebiotics and protein to boost hair health.

2. Berries – they have phytonutrients and vitamin C to help boost immune health and fight hair loss. Vitamin C – is also found in kale, spinach, brussel sprouts. These are also in our New You In 22 program – and we have some amazing recipes that make these taste so good the whole family will eat it. And…well stay tuned – an updated product coming soon with more immune boosting, hair supporting benefits!

3. Spinach – has many nutrients including vitamin A which helps produce sebum to moisturize the scalp and hair.

4. Omegas – found in fatty fish like salmon, mackeral, sardines. We have them in our shake naturally from the sunflower and flax lecithin. It’s also hard to get enough so we recommend everyone take an omega supplement. One study showed that fish oil supplement significantly reduced hair loss and increased hair growth in women with thinning hair. A study in 120 women found that taking a supplement containing omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids as well as antioxidants reduced hair loss and increased hair density. I get mine at Costco and it has fish, pumpkin seed, flax. Oh – our VPRo shake would be good too – with the pumpkin seed protein.

5. Avocados – a great source of Vitamin E, which helps promote hair growth and is also a healthy fat. We have recipes using avocado in our New You In 22 program.

6. Shrimp – a serving of shrimp provides almost 1/3 of your daily requirement for Vitamin D 3 which has been shown to reduce hair loss. So a Vitamin D3 supplement can be helpful. The shrimp also have omegas so you get that benefit too.

7. Iron – from meat – or the easily absorbed form we have in the Core shake helps too. You can also get this in red meat. And for a great recipe – the New You In 22 Cheeseburger casserole or stroganoff meatballs give you a lot of healthy benefits!

8. Nuts – healthy fats and fiber, have been shown to help fight hair loss.

How Jump To Health products can help fight hair loss.

An anti-inflammatory diet can help fight hair loss – and Jump can help.

With our New You In 22 program, and our Power 2 program,

you can eat healthy, save money, and get good nutrition.

The gut is where 90% of our serotonin and 84% of our immune system resides. It is where our nutrition is absorbed.

1If we have a bad gut bacteria imbalance, not only can we gain weight eating the same food as a thin person – but it can impact sleep, mood, and your hair.

It has been clinically demonstrated that chicory root fiber enhances calcium absorption, which reaches the bones and makes them stronger. Scientific research on chicory root fiber has been ongoing for 20 years, and the prebiotic effect is clinically proven. Other plant-based dietary fibers may claim a prebiotic effect, yet none provide the scientific evidence.

It also helps with stress. One study on 5 gr of prebiotic fiber, the amount in our shakes and Fiber Pro showed college students had 40% fewer colds, and that it had a protective effect against stress.

Another study from Oxford University showed researchers at Oxford University has demonstrated that prebiotics affected emotional responses as well as the levels of stress hormones produced by otherwise healthy volunteers. helps fight inflammation – and all disease starts with inflammation.

To get enough prebiotics that are in our Fiber Pro, you’d need to eat 1.3 pounds of bananas. It also slows sugar absorption if added to foods like juices, to help offset the inflammation that sugar can bring to the body, and the blood stream.

Learn about Fiber Pro https://www.fluid.app/s/2042e9

Getting easy to digest protein, at every meal helps with muscle, hair,

skin health and more.

Jump shakes have no simple sugar or fructose – which can wreck gut health – and yet are natural. And we have the clinically studied enzyme to help you better use this yummy protein shake.

Hair is 90% protein, so if you are not getting enough in each meal – your hair, skin, nails all can suffer. Being protein deficient can result in water retention, puffy eyes, lack luster hair, skin and nails, even irritability, dermatitis and skin discoloration.

Nutritionists recommend 20-25 gr of protein per meal, with healthy protein snacks in between. Yet most people get their protein primarily in their evening meal – skipping breakfast or having muffins, bagels and other carbs. In Jump's New You In 22 we have an amazing Bagel recipe made from our shakes and Fiber Pro! Get protein, prebiotic fiber, and boost your health with a Jump To Health protein bagel – with only 3 net carbs!

As we age our bodies slow down making it harder to consume protein. This is the #1 reason people enter nursing homes – loss of muscle. We lose around 10 oz. of muscle per year starting at age 30 – and around age 40 we notice it when we get winded walking up the stairs. This is loss of muscle.

Diet and exercise can help you retain more lean muscle – which is why the Core and V PRO shakes are so powerful. Both contain 3 different types of high quality proteins, PLUS Clinically studied enzymes shown to help you absorb up to 40% more protein into your muscle, hair, skin, cells and more. Plus with prebiotic fiber – it boosts the immune system, and your gut where nutrition is absorbed.

Core Shake And V-Pro Shake https://www.fluid.app/s/aa95ed

Antioxidants – A, C, E - help prevent free radical damage in the hair follicles.

Vitamin A is present in fish oils, liver, egg yolks, butter and vitamin A-fortified dairy products.

Additionally, vitamin A is a product of beta-carotene in carrots, and also green leafy and yellow vegetables, and deep and bright colored fruit.

Vitamin A deficiency can result from inadequate intake, fat malabsorption and liver disorders, and can lead to numerous ophthalmologic, systemic and dermatologic conditions.

So when we say the Fruit & Vegetable capsulesare powerful – this is one of the many reasons why. The Fruit and Vegetable capsules – support many body functions.

  1. They help remove heavy metals from the body and support the body’s natural liver detox system.

  2. Then they have high levels of polyphenols – which are anti-inflammatory.

One ingredient in these capsules is indole 3 carbinol, which has been shown in studies to help balance hormones in men and women.

Since hormones affect the hair health and thyroid – our Fruit and Vegetable Power products can help rid the body of toxins, may reduce the risk of some cancers, supports healthy bones, teeth, heart, and digestive health, liver, eye health, blood sugar and more.

There is a reason your mom told you to eat your broccoli – it has been known to promote hair growth! Indole 3 carbinol is found in broccoli, brussel sprouts, and why Kale is a super food. And Vegetable Power has about 37 cups of kale of this one nutrient alone.

B Vitamins – including Biotin – can make hair stronger.

  1. Niacin (B3) - Niacin plays an important role in cell metabolism, namely oxidation-reduction reactions.

  2. Vitamin B6 is an important co-factor in many enzymatic reactions of amino acid, lipid and glucose metabolism. Deficiency of vitamin B6 can result from excessive food processing, under-nutrition, malabsorption, renal disease and alcoholism, and drugs such as anticonvulsants, corticosteroids or penicillamine.

  3. Vitamin B12 - plays a key role in metabolism, nervous system function and red blood cell formation. Inadequate diet (vegan diet), impaired absorption (lack of intrinsic factor, decreased GI acid secretion, small bowel disease) and drugs (antacids, metformin) can impact this.

This is why we have B vitamins in a lot of our products, PLUS we have in the botanicals in KeTonic and Excelerade that help your body absorb MORE of the amino acids from the foods you eat; to help you get better nutrition and aid protein absorption too; along with MORE Mineral absorption.

And these have been clinically studied to increase muscle health, workout recovery, and are anti-inflammatory too.

Nutrition for Bone & Joint Pain

Relief Collections Series

Nutrition for

Bone & Joint Pain

by Audrey Sommerfeld | Founder & CEO

February 2024

For those that suffer muscle and bone pain (torn rotator cuff surgery, back pain, fusions) nutrition can help play a role in fighting inflammation and pain.

Too much sugar, alcohol, lack of water, poor diet can contribute to feeling worse.

Help our body fight inflammation by avoiding or fighting some of the things that can make inflammation worse.

Factors that Increase Inflammation:

 1. Obesity – lots of studies show that being overweight can cause your body to create more cytokines which increase inflammation. And with diabetes – as we become more resistant to insulin, we see more inflammation. So losing weight can help, plus it takes pressure off joints and knees. One pound of weight loss removes 4 pounds of pressure on the knees – so it can help.

2. Diet – if you eat a lot of sugar, and most people do – we eat an average of 156 pounds per person per year hidden in our foods – it can increase the bad bacteria in your gut and increase inflammation.

3. Smoking – smoking increases inflammation

4. Sleep and Stress – lack of sleep, and stress in life can make your body more inflammatory too.

5. Foods that make inflammation worse: Refined carbohydrates, such as white bread and pastries. Refined carbs have had most of their fiber removed so that they convert to sugar faster in your body. This makes you happy, then hungry. And then it feeds the bad bacteria in your gut. Leading to more inflammation and tiredness.

Foods to Avoid

Sugars and high fructose corn syrup.

Look at the added sugar in your dressings, limit or stop soda, limit juice drinks as they are often just High Fructose corn syrup without fiber – or add Fiber Pro to offset the sugar and balance it back out – similar to eating fruit.

Look at cereal, yogurt, ketchup – try to avoid sugar as much as possible.

Sugar consumption has grown 492% since the mid 1970’s. We eat an average of 8 oz.of sugars a day hidden in our food. And it is not just sugar. We also eat a lot of fructose and now the new crystalline fructose – which is a higher concentrated form of high fructose corn syrup.

Fructose puts you at a greater risk for:

  1. Metabolic Syndrome – which can increase blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol, triglycerieds and fat around the waist.
  2. Insulin Resistance – diabetes risk
  3. Obesity
  4. Nonalcoholic Fatty Liver disease
  5. Colo-rectal cancer
  6. Intestinal permeability
  7. Bacteria growth
  8. Damage blood vessels
  9. Contribute to heart health issues and cause inflammation in blood vessels.
  10.  And fructose can be plain on a label, or can come from coconut palm sugar, molasses, agave and other sugars that sound healthy.

Is Sucralose – AceK – any better?

A lot of companies use combinations of sweeteners. Years ago we all thought it was a good alternative to sugar – but is it?

  1. Studies show it can increase hunger so you eat more.
  2. Some studies have shown that sucralose can change your gut microbiome by lowering the number of good bacteria by half.
  3. Research done on animals shows that sucralose can also increase inflammation in the body.

Avoid unhealthy fat like margarine, shortening, and lard.

Eat real butter – it has butyric acid which is good for the bacteria in our gut. Margarine does not have this. Margarine is higher in Omega 6 – which may promote inflammation.

Most margarines contain trans fats, and they are often added to processed foods to extend shelf life. Unlike the naturally occurring trans fats found in dairy and meat, artificial trans fats have been shown to cause inflammation and increase disease risk.

In addition to lowering HDL (good) cholesterol, trans fats may impair the function of the endothelial cells lining your arteries, which is a risk factor for heart disease. Consuming artificial trans fats is linked to high levels of inflammatory markers, such as C-reactive protein (CRP).

In fact, in one study, CRP levels were 78% higher among women who reported the highest trans fat intake foods high in trans fats include French fries and other fried fast food, some varieties of microwave popcorn, certain margarines and vegetable shortenings, packaged cakes and cookies, some pastries, and all processed foods that list partially hydrogenated vegetable oil on the label.

Avoid a lot of processed meats and red meats – make sure your diet is balanced.

What to Eat To Fight Inflammation:

1. Healthy Fats – fatty fish like salmon, mackeral, sardines, or avocado, olive oil, even butter but not margarine.

Butter has healthy fats. And healthy dairy fat too. A lot of people think dairy is inflammatory - but truly, it can help heart health and gut health and brain health.

A 2017 review of 52 clinical studies, published in Critical Reviews in Food Science and Nutrition, concluded that dairy generally has anti-inflammatory effects, except in people allergic to cow’s milk.

And studies show fat can help the heart, where sugar increases triglycerides, sugar increases blood pressure, sugar raises bad cholesterol.

The science is showing that the low fat diet that started in the 1980’s was wrong. That is why on New You In 22 so many people report sleeping better, having more energy, and better skin, hair, nails. They are getting the right balance of healthy fats, and the right kinds of foods to fight inflammation and detox from all the sugar hidden in our food.

2. Fiber – from whole grains, and like that in our Fiber Pro– prebiotic fiber in asparagus, onions, chicory root. Fiber slows the amount of sugar being absorbed in your body from foods. Add Fiber pro to tea, coffee, or any beverage and it boosts gut health. Especially if you are trying to cut back on carbs. Get the benefits without the carbs and calories.

Info in Fiber Pro https://www.fluid.app/s/2042e9

3. Healthy Greens – kale, broccoli, spinach – have an ingredient called indole 3 carbinol which is powerful anti-inflammatory support, along with phytonutrients. This is why in our New You In 22 we have the Fruit Power & Vegetable Power capsules. If you don’t like kale – well these capsules have 37 cups worth. Super anti-inflammatory.

Info on Fruit, power, and vegetable power https://www.fluid.app/s/942f1a

4. Berries and high antioxidant fruits like blueberries, rasperries, blackberries – fruits contain antioxidants that help with inflammation.

They can also be found in Tea like our Power Ox or our Fruit Power and Vegetable Power capsules. We want people to eat fruits and vegetables - you will see this in our recipes – but many people don’t’ have access to them, don’t like them, or find they are grown in mineral depleted soil and have less nutritional value.

 Info On Power Ox https://www.fluid.app/s/0b1ad1

So when you supplement with Fruit Power and Vegetable Power capsules– people feel better fast!! Like 2-3 days fast. The fruit capsule has the power of 6-8 servings of fruit polyphenols. The vegetables way more than that! So these are the nutrients that work in the cell.

The Arthritis Organization has some great information on fruit and fruit extracts. Fruits, especially berries are loaded with antioxidants, and anthocyanins and carotenoids, which give berries their deep color. These compounds help rid the body of free radicals that promote inflammation and help prevent heart disease and certain cancers.

5. Nuts – which have healthy fat and fiber. Which is why in New You In 22 you will see our meal plans that include all of these healthy nuts, healthy fats, fiber, and healthy low glycemic, low sugar fruits and vegetables.

The program will detox your body of sugar, chemicals and without cleanse side effects that those detox teas can have. And we do it in a way that you don’t miss sugar, or have cravings. Instead it is pure, clean energy.

Kids Health and Nutrition

 Kid's Health and Nutrition

When kids return back to school – they can be stressed and more susceptible to colds and flu. From being around more kids, to entering school buildings again, to stress – It’s a common thing for kids to get sick right as they go back to school. And their parents then can get sick too. And with fall and winter coming – we see colds increase because the cold viruses love low humidity.

Kids on average get sick 4-6 times during the school year. That’s pretty much every 6 weeks when you think about it. And then parents can get sick too.

Kids, nutrition and obesity https://www.fluid.app/s/bbaef9

Parents with kids get sick 1.5 times greater than those who don’t’.

Households with no kids get infected with viruses an average 3-4 weeks per year.

Those with kids – goes to 18 weeks a year. Big families with 6 + kids have an average of 45 weeks of viral infections in the home. About ½ of these turn into a cold -so basically childless homes get sick 1-2 weeks a year, families with kids 9 weeks a year, and big families – up to 20 weeks a year! Yikes.

https://healthcare.utah.edu/publicaffairs/news/2015/08/08-05-15_Viruses-Thrive-In-Big-Families.php

For Kids and families – there are things we can do to support a healthy immune system.

1. Eat a healthy diet – with lots of vegetables, fruit, protein. Try to avoid too much sugar as it weakens the immune system, and feeds back bacteria in the gut.

2. Get enough sleep. Chronic lack of sleep weakens the immune system.

Sleep plays a huge role in immune function. When your kids stay up late and get up early for school every day, it leads to great amounts of sleep loss. This can be concerning to their immune health because chronic sleep loss can increase inflammatory markers and lead to immunodeficiency.

While kids are not only staying up late, the majority of them are exposing themselves to screens (blue light). This can also contribute to poor sleep quality. So stop looking at phones or computers an hour before bedtime

3. Get some exercise. Exercise helps increase the white blood cells which fight infections in the body. So a family walk, or Zumba dance a few times a week can help boost immune health.

4. Get good gut health. Diets high in sugar not only impact weight, but they also impact heart health and impact immune health. The bad bacteria in our gut thrives on sugar and that can weaken the immune system. It can also increase triglycerides and cholesterol. Now a lot of kids eat a lot of sugar – they have cereal, juice boxes- to take a look at what they are eating. Apple sauce opt for sugar free. If they have juice, be sure to add Fiber to it like Fiber Pro, as fiber helps offset the absorption of sugar. And for cereal – swap that out for a protein shake instead. Cereal turns to sugar in the body – even the unsweetened kind and that can spike insulin and make you hungrier later.

5. Protein – having the right amount of protein in each meal can help with immune health. So get them to have a protein shake for breakfast and they will do better in school and have better immune health. Avoid cereal- so many cereals are up to 55% sugar!. Kellogg’s Honey Smacks, at nearly 56 percent sugar by weight, and has more sugar than a Hostess Twinkie. Whileparents say no to dessert for breakfast, many children’s cereals have just as much sugar as a dessert – or more.

https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s00424-011-1044-0

Have Jump to Health shake instead. It tastes like cake, and you can blend vegetables like spinach, broccoli into them along with frozen berries and the kids won’t know those are in there…and for kids 4-12 they can have ½ a shake (or 1 scoop), kids 12+ can have a full shake.

Learn about Jump to Health Protein Shakes https://www.fluid.app/s/aa95ed

So, to support a good immune system

- cut the amount of sugar you eat daily. Have fruit instead of juice, or add Fiber Pro to the juice to offset the sugar rush.

- take prebiotic fibers to help the probiotics in your gut multiply

- drink plenty of water

- eat a healthy diet

- get enough sleep

- stay active – and join our Walk To Give program - your steps help you and help provide donations to Feeding America..

We recommend for kids the Fiber Pro or a shake for kids to get good nutrition, and boost immune health. 85% of the immune system is in the gut, and 95% of serotonin (for mood, sleep) is in the gut. So good gut health will boost immune health

 Learn about Fiber Pro https://www.fluid.app/s/2042e9

Immune boosing foods include

1. Citrus fruits -eat oranges, grapefruit.

2. Dark greens – especially broccoli, Brussel sprouts, kale-, spinach- dark greens have lots of polyphenols – again good for the gut and the immune.

3. Probiotic foods – foods like low sugar yogurt, sauerkraut, apple cider vinegar – and take a probiotic and prebiotic fiber like Fiber Pro. Studies are showing prebiotic fibers may be more powerful for the body than probiotics.

4. Garlic – garlic boosts the immune system.

5. Almonds – they have protein and fiber, and provide Vitamin E and C.

6. Green tea and tea in general- it feeds good bacteria and can fight off illnesses. We have a combination of white, green, and black tea extracts in the Jump Tea – so even more antioxidant protection than some simple teas.

7. Foods that have zinc – eggs, dairy, shellfish, meat, flax seeds, pumpkin seeds – all have zinc to boost the immune system.

8. Healthy fats - Dietary fats are essential to give your body energy and to support cell growth. They also help protect your organs and help keep your body warm. Fats help your body absorb some nutrients and produce important hormones, too. So, butter, cream, avocado, olive oil, coconut oil – all support the absorption of vitamins, minerals, and the hormones that your body creates to help keep you healthy.

So for Kids – have them have a Jump To Health shake for breakfast – the protein, prebiotic fiber boost immune health. And with the special mineral booster in the Core – we help get more calcium into their bones. Today’s kids are not getting enough calcium. Then give them the Fruit & Veg capsules – we know kids don’t eat enough vegetables or healthy fruits – and the nutrients in these help boost gut health and the immune system.

For adults a shake a day is also a good way to start the day. Same reasons – boost gut health, help keep blood sugar stable, boost immune health, fight fat and boost mood and concentration. Plus studies also show it can help you eat less during the day if you have a shake for breakfast.

The Vital Defense would be great for the family – it is large though, and it would need to be cut up or ground and put into food for kids. For kids 4-12, ½ an adult dose.

Vital Defense https://www.fluid.app/s/79d90e

Now the other thing a parent can do is drink a PowerOx.

Power Ox https://www.fluid.app/s/0b1ad1

It is full of antioxidants to help fight ‘oxidative stress’.

Oxidative stress can contribute to aging, and more importantly -to disease. Chronic oxidative stress may cause cellular damage and contribute to hardening of the arteries, heart disease, cancer, dementia, and many other diseases.

This is one of the many reasons for Power Ox. It is not only tastes good – it can be taken daily, hot or cold, to boost your immune health and cell health too.

Vitamin C – in PowerOx™ can help with:

•Reduce risk of chronic disease

•Help manage blood sugar

•Can lower risk of heart disease

•Help prevent gout

•Help prevent iron deficiency

•Boost Immunity

•Protects memory as we age

•Stimulates Collagen Synthesis (better skin)

•Helps iron be absorbed better

•Plays role in brain function

•Heart health

•Boosts immune system

•Boosts some treatments

•Protects eye health

https://www.everydayhealth.com/diet-nutrition/scientific-health-benefits-of-vitamin-c/

https://www.healthline.com/nutrition/vitamin-c-benefits#7.-Protects-your-memory-and-thinking-as-you-age

Combine that with extracts – not simple tea – but extracts of green tea, black tea, white tea. These are also antioxidants that fight free radicals. There are thousands of studies on the benefits of green tea, but also black tea and white tea.

White tea is known to be very powerful in fighting free radicals. White tea leaves and buds are picked just before they are fully open, when they’re covered in fine white hairs. This is where white tea gets its name White tea is packed with polyphenols, which have antioxidant benefits. They help reduce chronic inflammation by protecting the body against damage from free radicals.

White tea is the least processed of the three teas. Because of this, it retains a high amount of antioxidants. This is thought to be one reason why studies have linked white tea with many health benefits, including helping reduce the risk of heart disease, combat skin aging and even help with weight loss.

So this one extract helps skin health, heart health, and weight.

Green tea is one of the most studied nutrients in the world. In a review of several studies – researchers found that daily green tea can help fight viral respiratory infections.

Now there are thousands of studies on green tea and health benefits –and if you are like me I can’t stand the taste of green tea – but now I can get those health benefits without that green tea flavor.

Compared to other types of tea, green tea has the highest concentration of Polyphenols (antioxidants). This can be attributed to the fact that it is the less processed type of tea. Fresh leaves of the Camellia Sinensis are rapidly steamed to inactivate enzymes and prevent fermentation and oxidation of essential compounds. Many studies have shown a strong link between oxidative stress, chronic inflammation, and diseases. So if we fight inflammation, we also fight diseases.

Polyphenols antioxidants in green tea reduce risks by inhibiting or slowing down the oxidative damage process in our bodies. EGCG, in particular, stops diseased cells from growing and even directly kills them.

So the green tea – helps fight diseases of the cells – and may even kill them, while it boosts health, fights inflammation.

Black Tea Extract – and black tea is high in theaflavins, which can help lower the risk of diabetes, obesity and elevated cholesterol. Results showed that theaflavins reduced cholesterol and blood sugar levels too. It can lower bad or ldl cholesterol, boost the healthy bacteria in the gut, fight inflammatory bowel disease or IBS, and the antioxidants also boost immune health.

Plus a clinically studied and patented Immune Boosting Fiber.

Stay hydrated.

Hydration is a key element to maintaining a healthy immune system. And with ¾ of us dehydrated – this can help you feel better too. Our immune system is highly dependent on the nutrients in our blood stream, and our blood stream is made mostly of water!

If we don’t have enough water, we cannot properly transport nutrients to each organ system. Staying well hydrated is also very important for detoxification pathways, increasing lymphatic draining and making sure we are clearing out any foreign invaders and other waste materials. Dehydration can contribute to muscle tension, headaches, low serotonin production and digestive issues.
